Tectonics and Structural Geology for the Mining and Minerals Industry

As part of the 2026 Conference of the Specialist Group in Tectonics and Structural Geology, the Industry Day will bring together leading experts, industry professionals, researchers, and students for a focused program exploring the critical role of structural geology and tectonics in the mining and minerals sector.

This dedicated one-day event will feature six internationally recognised experts delivering extended one-hour plenary presentations. The longer-format sessions are designed to move beyond condensed conference talks, giving speakers the opportunity to authentically share their experience, technical insights, workflows, case studies, and lessons learned from real-world applications across the resources industry.

The program will showcase how structural geology and tectonic understanding underpin exploration success, orebody interpretation, geotechnical assessment, and mineral systems analysis across a range of commodities and geological settings.

The SGTSG Industry Day provides a unique forum for meaningful engagement between industry practitioners, academics, and the next generation of geoscientists. Attendees will have the opportunity to:

  • Hear in-depth presentations from leading structural geologists and tectonics experts

  • Explore practical applications in mineral exploration and mining

  • Gain insights into emerging approaches, technologies, and industry challenges

  • Connect with professionals across industry and academia

  • Engage directly with speakers through extended discussion opportunities

Whether you are an exploration geologist, researcher, consultant, student, or mining industry professional, the Industry Day offers a rare opportunity to learn from experts in a format designed for deeper understanding and genuine knowledge exchange.

Further program details, speaker announcements, and registration information will be released soon.
